With so many cars now running the new Rival tire this story seems to be playing out everywhere. It was the same at the second Ultimate Street Car Association event of the year, held at TMS March 21 - 23. The competition was tough with some of the greats in the Pro-Touring world like Kyle and Stacy Tucker, Brian Hobaugh, Bret Voelkel, Danny Popp, Ryan Mathews and Tim Mcgilton showing up to play. I was also there with my BFG sponsored 71 Camaro running as the BFG entry for the event. We really put the tires to the test with an 80 mile road rally in traffic followed by a full day of auto crossing and the Speed Stop Challenge. The temps were cool which was great for the engines but not so much for the tires that had to work overtime. The weekend closed out with a full day on the 1.1 mile road course. In the end local entrant Terry Fair came out on top with strong finishes in the Autocross and Speed Stop events and a win on his home track in the road course event. The BFG 71 Camaro came in with a close 2nd place overall finish with a 2nd place in the Speed Stop, 3rd place in the Auto Cross, 3rd place in the Design Style and 5th place on the Road Course. Once again the Rival has proven that if you want to sit on the podium you have to go with the best.
